Some key takeaways from the run today -

  1. The distance was short only 10km, but this was a run, that was on higher end in terms of being challenging.

  2. The Delhi weather was extremely humid, making it tough to breathe

  3. During the run, so many times felt like quitting, that this is enough, body is not able to cope up. I got this feeling at 2km, 4km, 5km, 7km, 8.5km mark.

  4. Running is such a beautiful activity that even though I got this thought of quitting 5 times during the 10km run, there is a sense of great happiness when one is able to finish a run that they intended to complete.

  5. Running is a personal battle - irrespective of whatever time one is clocking. The process of finishing a run at whatever time, again is a personal thing. We are solely competing against ourselves.

  6. Now the mental resilience in order to complete the run has to be immense. As if we quit the run, as we get the first thought of quitting, would mean that we just gave up easily.

  7. This is something that we very much can replicate in all our others walks of life, especially at work. When we are taking up a challenging task, we should be optimistic about it. We should also know that as we take up any given task, there are going to be many ocassions when we might not feel motivated enough to push and complete the task in hand. It is our duty though to ensure, that we keep our mind strong, and then are able to cross the barrier.

  8. This is something that I am trying to practice a lot very mindfully. It is also allowing me to keep pushing the mental limits that I have in order to explore the limitless possibilities that the human body is having - which we often do not find out, as we bend infront of our minds.

  9. Nimsdai recently, left for his onward journey - an avid mountaineer, he broke all mental limits as climbed all 14 peaks in a very short amount of time. He said that it always seems impossible until its done. He also said when we think we are 100% done, we are almost only 40% done. It is the mind game, and the willingness to push and push.

  10. Will keep sharing updates from the next difficult run. In a mission to also see and explore to what extent can I push my human body, to be as fit, alert, agile as possible.
